These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Saturday Cookoff application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who We Are
The Service is operated by SaturdayCookoff Pty Ltd ("Saturday Cookoff," "we," "our," or "us").
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if:
- You are at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction);
- You are legally able to enter a binding contract; and
- You comply with these Terms and applicable law.
If you are under the age of majority where you live, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for your account and all activity under it. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current registration information;
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- Promptly notify us of unauthorized use or security incidents; and
- Not share your account in a way that risks misuse.
We may require identity or ownership verification for account recovery, security, and fraud prevention.
4. License to Use the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial use.
You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except as allowed by law;
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service without written permission;
- Bypass access controls, rate limits, or security mechanisms.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate laws, regulations, or third-party rights;
- Upload harmful, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, or obscene content;
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights;
- Distribute malware, phishing attempts, spam, or fraudulent content;

6. User Content and Rights
"User Content" means content you submit to the Service, including photos, videos, recipes, comments, display names, and profile information.
You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting), display, distribute, and otherwise use User Content as needed to:
- Operate and provide the Service;
- Improve platform features and safety;
- Promote Saturday Cookoff in product and marketing channels.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or control all rights needed to submit User Content;
- Your User Content does not violate law or third-party rights; and
- You have obtained necessary permissions from individuals shown in your content when required.
7. Moderation and Enforcement
We may review, remove, restrict, or refuse content or accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms, community guidelines, law, or platform safety requirements.
We may take action without prior notice where necessary for legal compliance, security, or harm prevention.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including software, branding, platform design, text, graphics, and other original content (excluding User Content), is owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual property laws.
No ownership rights are transferred to you under these Terms.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service may include integrations, links, or tools provided by third parties. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their terms, policies, practices, or content.
Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and policies.
10. Paid Features and Billing (If Offered)
If we provide paid features, subscriptions, or add-ons:
- Pricing, billing cycle, and renewal terms will be shown before purchase;
- You authorize charges through your selected payment method;
- Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated;
- We may change pricing for future billing periods with reasonable notice.
We may suspend access to paid features for failed or disputed payments.
11. Safety and Food Disclaimer
Cooking involves risks, including but not limited to heat, sharp tools, cross-contamination, and allergens. You are solely responsible for safe preparation, storage, and consumption practices.
Content in the Service is for informational purposes only and is not medical, nutritional, dietary, or professional culinary advice.
12. Service Availability and Changes
We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or available at all times.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and title.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Saturday Cookoff and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from or related to your use of the Service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims related to the Service will not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose; or
- AUD 100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Saturday Cookoff and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and partners from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your User Content;
- Your breach of these Terms;
- Your misuse of the Service; or
- Your violation of law or third-party rights.
16. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, or disable accounts if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created legal exposure, or caused safety or security risk.
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the Service ends immediately;
- We may retain certain data as required by law, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes;
- Provisions that should survive termination will remain effective (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and dispute terms).
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, excluding conflict-of-law rules.
Before filing a legal claim, you agree to attempt good-faith informal resolution by contacting us at support@saturdaycookoff.com and providing a written description of the issue.
Unless otherwise required by applicable consumer law, disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the courts located in Australia.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the Service, email, or other reasonable means.
Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
